Been preaching this to my friends for years............FINALLY the FDA must list the TRANS FAT content on all food labels starting in 2006!

What are Trans-fats?
Trans-fats are natural fat molecules created in the hydrogenation process. They are mostly found in animal fats and vegetable oils. TFAs (trans-fatty acids) are just as bad if not worse for the heart and arteries than saturated fats. They increase total cholesterol, raise "bad" LDL (low-density lipoprotein) and lower "good" HDL (high-density lipoprotein). Beyond that, TFAs may have adverse effects on cell membranes and the immune system, and may promote cancer and aging.

Remember, trans fats are anything HYDROGENATED in foods!

Many and most processed foods contain PARTIALLY HYDROGENATED oils.

Again, COMPLETELY attempt to rid yourself of this silent killer in foods!

Egg white are fine...there is a lot of debate as to whether eating raw eggs daily, is safe long term...

Without going into more detail, I have learned that it is in the hair where you most quickly see the effects of eating raw egg whites on a daily basis. It gets straw-like and loses it lustre quite quickly...

just cook them if possible...stay away from the yolks daily...

One FULL egg contains 65% of what your maximum cholesterol intake should be for the entire day.

Butter vs. margarine looks to be another medical about face.

The total cholesterol will more likely than not go up if downing a dozen or more raw eggs a day, but the LDL/HDL ratio will look beautiful on paper if you train hard. I was tested once on a huge total calorie diet and eating at least a dozen raw eggs and had a 300 cholesterol. Not bad considering 100 was of the HDL type.

Remember gang...........the majority of processed bread contains partially hydrogenated oils(trans-fats).

CHECK LABELS CAREFULLY ON EVERYTHING YOU BUY!

I always say everything in moderation...

I try to steer clear of fast food...But that doesnt mean i dont eat it at all..

at times i get a hectic day and go way past beyond meal time and dont want to fix anything i will get fast food NOT SUPERSIZE AND NO SOFT DRINKS... Everything in moderation folks..

(But i like the idea of staying away from processed meats, i am actively practicing that)

Ps...I eat 3 fried runny eggs every day. I think thats a habit i will continue to the day i die...

Margarine was originally manufactured to fatten turkeys.
When it killed the turkeys, the people who had put all
the money into the research wanted a payback so they put their heads together to figure out what to do with this product to get their money back.

It was a white substance with no food appeal so they added the yellow coloring and sold it to people to use in place of butter.
How do you like it?
They have come out with some clever new flavorings.
DO YOU KNOW...the difference between margarine and butter?

Read on to the end...gets very interesting!
Both have the same amount of calories.
Butter is slightly higher in saturated fats at 8 grams compared to 5 grams.
Eating margarine can increase heart disease in women by53% over eating the same amount of butter, according to a recent HarvardMedical Study.
Eating butter increases the absorption of many other nutrientin other foods.
Butter has many nutritional benefits where margarine has afew only because they are added!
Butter tastes much better than margarine and it can enhance the flavors of other foods.
Butter has been around for centuries where margarine has been around for less than 100 years.

And now, for Margarine...

a.. Very high in trans fatty acids.
b.. Triple risk of coronary heart disease.
c.. Increases total cholesterol and LDL
(thisisthe bad cholesterol) and lowers HDL cholesterol, (the good cholesterol)
d..Increases the risk of cancers up to five fold.
e.. Lowers quality of breastmilk.
f.. Decreases immune response.
g .. Decreases insulin response.

And here's the most disturbing fact....

HERE IS THE PART THAT IS VERYINTERESTING!
Margarine is but ONE MOLECULE away from being PLASTIC...

This fact alone was enough to have me avoiding margarine
for life and anything else that is hydrogenated (this means hydrogen is added, changing the molecular structure of the substance).

You can try this yourself: Purchase a tub of margarine and leave it in your garage or
shaded area. Within a couple of days you will note a few things:
1. No flies, not even those pesky fruit flies will go near it (thatshould tell you something)
2. It does not rot or smell differently because it has no nutritional value; nothing will grow on it
3. Even those teeny weeny micro-organisms will not a finda home to grow. Why? Because it is nearly plastic.
Would you melt your Tupperware and spread that on your toast?
